Most Iconic Sunglasses of all time

Sunglasses are the inseparable complement of some movie characters, to the point of becoming an identifying element of the movie. What are for you the most iconic sunglasses in the history of cinema? This week we collected some of the most iconic sunglasses that set trends from their appearance in a movie and that inspired a fashion style. See them below:

Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961)
Without a doubt, one of the most iconic sunglasses in film history is the one worn by Audrey Hepburn in the film Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The protagonist has breakfast looking at the window of the popular Tifannys jewelry store with a croissant in her hand, a pearl necklace and hiding her gaze behind square and dark glasses.

Taxi Driver (1976)
Robert de Niro plays Taxi Driver Travis Bickle, an ex-marine who wears Ray-Ban Aviators that give him a unique trait.

Risky Business (1983)
The Ray-Ban Wayfarer became an icon in the mid-1980s because of Tom Cruise. However, we should mention that others have wore them on the big screen before Tom Cruise: James Dean and Jack Nicholson, for example. They are still one of the best selling designs today.

Top Gun (1986)
Tom Cruise also set a trend in Top Gun with aviator sunglasses, a model that became fashionable thanks to the film. In fact, after the success of the film, many joined the Armed Forces in the United States, and everyone wanted to wear both the leather jacket and the Ray-Ban Aviator glasses.

Thelma & Louise (1991)
Susan Sarandon plays Louise Sawyer in Thelma & Louise, and despite the fact that throughout the film Louise wears different sunglasses, the truth is that the most iconic are these, with a marked retro aesthetic, tortoiseshell frame and with the shape cat's eye.

Matrix (1999)
We could not leave the Matrix out of this list! Undoubtedly other of the most iconic (and unique) sunglasses in cinema. Without sunglasses, the movie would not be the same, would it? Keanu Reeves, for example, in his role as Neo wears these futuristic aesthetic rimless sunglasses with very dark, oval lenses.
